INVITATION TO
BID
The Valdosta
Housing Authority of Valdosta, Georgia, will
receive bids at the Central Office of the
Authority at 610 East Ann Street, Valdosta,
Georgia 31601, until 10:30 a.m. at the time
legally prevailing in Valdosta, Georgia, on
Tuesday November 1, 2005, for Capital Fund
Program No. GA06P100501-04, Valdosta Housing
Authority. At the time and place noted
above the bids will be publicly opened and
read aloud.
The contract
requirements include among other things:
New HVAC systems, new interior wood doors,
metal frames, electrical, plumbing,
painting, driveways, re-roofing, flooring,
landscaping, new siding, windows, security
screens, compressor screens, concrete side
walks, new topsoil, remove all GWB and
replace with new GWB, wall insulation and
other miscellaneous work due to
demolition.
Contract
Documents, including Drawings and
Specifications, are on file at the office of
the Valdosta Housing Authority, 610 East Ann
Street, Valdosta, Georgia 31601. Bidding
documents may be obtained at the office of
the Architect, IPG Incorporated, Architects
& Planners, 807 Northwood Park Drive,
Valdosta, Georgia 31602. Application for
documents together with a deposit of $150.00
per set should be filed promptly with the
Architect. Bidding material will be
forwarded and shipping charges collected, as
soon as possible. The full amount of
deposit for one set will be refunded to each
general contractor who submits a bona fide
bid upon return of such set in good
condition within twenty (20) calendar days
after the date of the opening of bids. All
other deposits will be refunded with
deduction of the cost of reproduction of
documents upon return of same in good
condition within thirty (30) calendar days
after date of opening of bids.
A certified
check or bank draft, payable to Valdosta
Housing Authority, U.S. Government bonds at
par value, or a satisfactory bid bond
executed by the bidder and acceptable
sureties in an amount equal to 5% of the bid
shall be submitted with each bid. Also
provide the following with the bid:
1. Certificate of Authority.
2. Non-Collusive Affidavit.
3. Bidders Construction Experience
Statement.
4. Previous Participation Certification.
The successful
bidder will be required to furnish and pay
for both a performance bond and a payment
bond or bonds in an amount equal to 100% of
the contract price.
Attention is
called to the provisions for equal
employment opportunity and the requirement
that not less than the minimum salaries and
wages as set forth in the specifications
must be paid on this project.
The Valdosta
Housing Authority reserves the right to
reject any or all bids or to waive any
informalities in the bidding.
No bid shall
be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days
subsequent to the opening of bids without
the consent of the Valdosta Housing
Authority of Valdosta, Georgia.
