The Valdosta Housing Authority participated in the 2020 Georgia Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (GAHRA) Legislative Day, held on January 28th at the State Capitol. This event was hosted by the Association’s Legislative consultant Mo Thrash, and consisted of several key legislators speaking to the group about legislation or potential legislation that could affect the affordable housing industry. While in Atlanta, the Board was able to speak directly with Representative Dexter Sharper, Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Director Alan Poole, and Senator Ellis Black. The group also had a private tour of the Governor’s staff offices, along with a group picture with Governor Brian Kemp.
